Brandan Gonzales, Tahmu-Yowah (Morning Blessing), the third eldest of Barbara & Robert’s four sons, is an outdoorsman, former wildland firefighter & cultivator with the Pueblo of San Ildefonso. Brandan was also brought into the pottery making tradition early on. Today Brandan’s work consists mainly of small black-on-black bowls & plates, but one style of bowls in particular, the cornmeal bowl. The cornmeal bowl plays a significant role in the traditional life of the people of San Ildefonso Pueblo, as it holds the cornmeal that is offered during prayer & ceremony.
